After Bora Bora Nui Resort, we flew to another island called Taha’a…we stayed at the famous Le Taha’a Resort, part of RELAIS&CHATEAUX, it is truly magical!

Room: 8.9 for tropical resort
Fun: 8 (you can swim all the way out and the water is still pretty shallow)

Here is our overwater bungalow(at the end of the bed, you can lift the glass and feed fish underneath):

Closer look at our bathroom:

Dinner: We went to Vanille, only fine dining restaurant on the island, here is what we think:
rating: 7.8

chocolate dessert:

macaroons with sorbet:

bacon+foie gras+filet mignon:

duck:

Lobster Bisque:

Tuna tartare:

It’s probably the best food we’ve had in Tahiti.

This is our trip to Bora Bora, Tahiti – A place I consider the MOST beautiful place on earth!!! The water is so clean, clear, warm and BLUE!

Dinner at the best restaurant in the resort: Iriatai
rating: 6 (over priced)

It’s decent food, nothing to write home about…but really over priced.

If you just want to chill and look at the ocean…this is the perfect place to be! Next time…I want to stay at the St. Regis!

After a few days on Matangi Island, Fiji, we flew back to the main island and stayed at a resort named Pearl. Boy, we had the WORST EXPERIENCE there…our room was flooded with water and our bags were all soaked. We quickly moved to Sheraton Fiji in Nadi for some sunshine and DRY room.

Fiji Sheraton:
Food: 5.5
fun:6
room: 6

Here is outside our room:

Our breakfast:

Shabu Shabu Restaurant in the hotel…$80 for shabu….highway robbery!

Then we had dinner at the best restaurant in town: Port O’Call
The atomsphere is definitely romantic french setting and the food is …more traditional european cuisine. It’s probably the best meal we’ve had in Fiji.
Food: 7.5

My fish dish…I believe it’s snapper

My husband’s filet mignon

Fiji is beautiful in a nature loving kinda way…but if you want 5 star hotel or extremely good food…wrong place.

Since this is our first post, we will go way back to 2005. We wanted to go to an exotic island for vacation…after looking at several places…we’ve decided to take an adventure to FIJI!
We stayed at Matangi Island Resort. It is a private island that rains a lot and quite windy…at night…there are a lot of FROGS. hahaha. Here is our rating:

food:6.5
fun: 8
room: 5 (water smelled like copper)

our bedroom…island style window

our bure( boo-ray)

caught a big fish!
